Skip Rental in the UK

The Benefits of Skip Rental in the UK

A cluttered site slows you down. Piles of rubble, offcuts and old plasterboard get in the way, create trip hazards and make a poor impression on clients.

Skip rental in the UK is one of the simplest ways to keep a job moving, whether you’re gutting a kitchen, clearing a garden or running a full construction site.

At ADS Recycling, we make it easy. Call us on 0800 975 8013 or email orders@adsrecycling.co.uk and we’ll help you pick the right skip, book your delivery date and get your waste sorted.

This guide covers how a skip saves you time, which size suits your job, what waste you can put in it, and why it’s a greener choice than running loads to the tip yourself.

Why Skip Rental UK Services Save You Time and Money

Every trip to the tip is time you’re not on the job. You lose hours to loading the van, queuing and unloading. That adds up over a week.

A skip on site changes that. Your waste goes straight in as you work, so there’s no double handling. When the skip is full, we collect it and take it away.

With a skip, you get:

  • A cleaner, safer site. Less mess means fewer trip hazards and fewer accidents.
  • Fewer delays. Your team keeps working instead of driving back and forth.
  • A better look for clients. A tidy site shows you run a professional job.
  • Flexible placement. Skips can go on a driveway, road, garden or car park, depending on your site.

Skip Sizes for Every Job, Small or Large

Picking the wrong size costs money. Too small and you’ll need a second skip.

Too big and you’re paying for space you don’t use. We offer a full range, from small domestic jobs to the biggest trade projects.

Smaller Skips for Refits and Clear-Outs

  • 4yd Midi Skip: Holds around 30–40 bin bags. Good for small clearances and bathroom or kitchen refits.
  • 6yd Small Builder Skip: Holds around 50–60 bin bags. Handy for bulky waste on small building jobs.

Mid-Size Skips for Busy Sites

  • 8yd Large Builder Skip: Holds around 60–80 bin bags. The go-to choice for medium site clearances and bulky waste.
  • 12/14yd Clearance Skip: Holds around 100–120 bin bags. Built for large site clearances.
  • 12yd Enclosed Skip: The same capacity, with an enclosed design for large clearances.

RoRo Containers for Trade Use

  • 20yd RoRo: Great for large bulky waste and light construction waste.
  • 35yd and 40yd RoRo: Made for trade use. These handle the biggest jobs.

Waste Types We Accept

Sorting your waste by type often makes disposal simpler and helps more of it get recycled. Choose the option that matches your job:

  • General waste: Bricks, blocks, paving, wood, metal, construction and decorating materials, household and garden waste, cardboard and plastic.
  • Hardcore only: Bricks, concrete and hardcore stone from driveways, walls and foundations.
  • Inert: Soil, sub soil, topsoil and mixed hardcore soil from garden and driveway projects.
  • Plasterboard: Plasterboard from DIY jobs and house refurbishments.
  • Green waste only: Garden waste, trees and bushes.
  • Wood only: Non-tanalised wood from refurbishments and new builds.
  • Metal only: Any metal, including cabinets, shelving and fencing gates.

What Can’t Go in a Skip

Some items need special handling. Please call us before adding things like asbestos, batteries, tyres, fridges, mattresses, gas bottles, tanalised timber, or liquids such as paint, oil and solvents.

Plasterboard over 5% of the load also needs prior notice.

Fill It Safely

Always fill your skip evenly and no higher than the top edge.

Drivers can face legal action for an insecure load, so overfilled skips won’t be collected and may cost extra.

A Greener Way to Handle Waste

Skip rental is good for your site and good for the environment.

We follow the recycling hierarchy, which means we put reuse and recycling first so less waste ends up in landfill.

Our Rubble to Resource commitment turns much of the rubble we collect into materials that can be used again.

That means the hardcore from your old driveway could become part of someone else’s new one.

It’s a practical way to cut waste without any extra effort on your part.

Extra Services to Support Your Project

Some jobs need more than a skip. That’s why we also offer a range of extra services, including:

  • 8 x 4 tipper truck hire
  • Grab vehicle hire
  • Demolition and site clearance
  • Scrap metal processing
  • Crushed concrete, top soil and road planings
  • Compactor services

Having one supplier for waste removal and materials saves you phone calls, paperwork and time.
